MUCH
ADO ABOUT NOTHING & RICHARD II
in
rep November and December @ Theatre Inc.
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
The
second half of the 2010 season will open with Shakespeare’s sharp, smart comedy about the battle of the sexes and what it
takes to make love happen. Much Ado About
Nothing is the first of a cluster of three comedies written in the space of
about a year that represents Shakespeare’s comic genius at its’ height. Featuring some of the bard’s most
beloved characters, Intrepid will present this incredible comedy in rep with
Richard II. Director TBA
RICHARD II
One
of Shakepeare’s most subtle and poetically enriched plays and the only play in
the canon written completely in verse.
Richard is the first play in the tetralogies and contains the crime that
will unleash a bloody civil war two generations later. Before the hunchbacked Richard III, the
War of the Roses of Henry VI, the English victory of Henry V or the tall tales
of Falstaff in Henry IV, there was the fall of an anointed king and the
usurping of the English throne.
Directed by Shakespeare veteran and Artistic Director of Theatre Inc.,
Douglas Lay, and featuring Intrepid’s Executive Artistic Director Sean Cox as
Richard II.
